80′s Theme Song Quiz!
Julie Icon

Time got away from me yesterday, but here’s a fun quiz. My favorite modern song (and trust me, this was hard for me to come up with because I listen mostly to “talk” radio) is Big Girls Don’t Cry by Fergie. Here’s my 80s Theme Song…

Your 80s Theme Song Is:

Straight Up by Paula Abdul

Take the Quiz, it’s fun!

Do you listen to “modern” music? Honestly, I listen mostly to Oprah XM and E! Entertainment News and National Public Radio. When I listen to music (which I do when I’m writing) it’s mostly relaxation music that I bought from iTunes (the Spa Collection) or to Audio Visions on XM, which is also spa-type background music. Sometimes, though, I’ll listen to one radio station that plays modern stuff, but not enough. Not like I used to. You??

Julie Leto

JulieBy all reports, Julie Leto was a sweet child once, somewhat shy, preferring to play quietly in her room making up stories. However, being raised with three brothers in a loud, primarily Italian household did have its influences and Julie discovered her inner tough girl. That’s probably why most of her heroines kick serious butt. Writing sassy heroines has worked out, as she’s sold over forty books to four publishers featuring strong, confident women. Julie lives in Florida with her daughter, a spoiled dachshund, a haughty lynx-point Siamese and a wide range of relatives all within driving distance.

Um… I will need to thing about this and do it later. I tend to listen to Classic Rock and Country, with some current Metal thrown in. I know that there is something out there that has to qualify. Seether??? :impatient:

99 Luft Balloons by Nena??? I don’t think so LOL. Not when I chose “Paralyzed” by Finger 11.

I just love music, period. Rock, country, oldies, classical, r&B. Not a whole lot I don’t listen to (most rap I stay away from) but I gotta have my music.

Mine is 1999 by Prince. I forgot about that song, I really liked it but I don’t know if it was my 80′s song.:- )
When it comes to music I’m pretty much stuck in the grungy 90′s, I listen to Cd’s that I own, hardly ever the radio. When I do have the radio on it’s tuned to our local hard rock station, no dance music or ballads for me thanks!

Mine was Father Figure by George Michael, which is funny since it was playing on the radio when the title came up on the computer(don’t really think it was my 80′s song). I listen to all types of music, but try to keep it on light rock or country at work. I really use it more for background noise than anything else. If I’m at the gym, I want the music to really rock, so I have anything upbeat on my gym mix.

Straight Up is definitely a great theme song for me. These are lyrics everyone needs to hear every once in a while and I loved Paula Abdul before she lost her mind!

I love hearing all these songs…love them all! I’m such a child of the 80s. :thankyou:

I don’t have a favorite song of today. Mostly, I listen to ‘old people’s” music (that’s what my hubby calls it). Guess it is “hip to be square” (Huey Lewis tune…lol)>

My Prerogative by Bobby Brown This is perfect for me, since I was a teenager when it was released and he was one of my favs at the time.

My favorite song today, this minute is I Believe I Can Fly by R Kelly

My theme song is In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel :scratch3:

I listen mostly to a station that plays 60′s 70′s and 80′s music. I love Springsteen. But I love Jazz and Country and Classical music too. I also love to listen to Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Streisand…Itzhak Perlman
My musical tastes are pretty eclectic.

    Have a great day all,

    Cher :snoopy:

My favorite today is probably Check Yes Juliet by We The Kings. On the 80′s quiz I came as Rock Me Amedeus, which I actually don’t remember liking that much in the 80′s, lol. My taste today is somewhat slanted by what’s on the radio as I drive my 13-year-old and her friends around.

“Wild, Wild West” by Escape Club….I used to love that song! :rotfl1: And I guess it was my theme song since I moved out west in ’86.

I hardly ever listen to the radio, I always listen to my iPod. But my son and hubby listen to the radio and my favorite song right now is “All Summer Long” by Kid Rock. :fainting: Who would have EVER thought I’d be saying my favorite song was a Kid Rock song?!?!

And Julie, I’m like you. I’m definitely a child of the 80′s. But I really, really love Big Hair of the 80′s!!!! :giggle:

Mine was Purple Rain by Prince. I think he’s great, but I’m not much of a fan. I listen mainly to country music, although I listen to everything from pop, r&b, some jazz, opera, classical, alternative, and movie soundtracks. I don’t much care for rap or heavy metal.

My quiz result was, Walk Like an Egyptian by the Bangles. I totally remember that song. It was a big thing in Junior High.

These days, actually those too, I am all Country all the time.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I love all types of music, but when I’m writing I always start with Paul Potts and from there it goes to rock. But if I’m having trouble with a scene it’s the classicals that seem to help get back on track. :)

Well, I definitely listen to ‘modern’ music. Most of what I listen to is the CDs I’ve bought and uploaded into my iTunes library at work. When I’m in my car, though, I usually listen to a radio station that plays a lot of new music. That’s how I’ve picked up stuff like I Hate Kate and Paramore.

As for my 80′s Theme song, it was ‘Like a Prayer’ by Madonna, which I guess is fitting since my current favorite song is ‘Be My Escape’ by Relient K.

I can’t think of a modern song!! The station I listen to used to be a Smooth Jazz station, now it is just Smooth! The music is mostly the same!!My era was the 50′s, I loved Elvis, Don’t Be Cruel & Love Me Tender and many other 50′s songs. To many to list!! I do have to mention Bill Haley & The Comets, Rock Around the Clock, loved it & so did my mom!! I grew up listening to all that good music in the 40′s. Some songs still make me sigh!! :giggle:

Today seems to be a day for music as the other blog I visit dailey had a music theme! :cooldance:

:boohoo: I can’t take the test because I don’t have a favorite song of todays music. I just don’t care for the music of today. I still listen to the music of the 70′s and 80′s music. To me that was music not the junk they have today.
