An Early Christmas Surprise!
Julie Icon

My next Phantom book, PHANTOM’S TOUCH, comes out in December, so you can imagine how excited I was when I received my box of ARCs today!

Yeah!!!!!!

(Jolene, if you’re reading this…the one you won way back when will be in the mail today!)

But first…at the Literacy signing this year, I had so many people come up and even if they didn’t buy a book, stop to admire PHANTOM PLEASURES beautiful cover (which for those of you who own the book know, it’s twice as gorgeous in person as it is online.) To be honest, I was afraid that the cover would be impossible to top. Fortunately, I was wrong. Feast your eyes…

So in celebration of the new cover and the ARCs, I’m giving away TWO MORE COPIES to two lucky commenters who tell me why they absolutely must have a 3-month head start on reading this book before everyone else!

Julie Leto

JulieBy all reports, Julie Leto was a sweet child once, somewhat shy, preferring to play quietly in her room making up stories. However, being raised with three brothers in a loud, primarily Italian household did have its influences and Julie discovered her inner tough girl. That’s probably why most of her heroines kick serious butt. Writing sassy heroines has worked out, as she’s sold over forty books to four publishers featuring strong, confident women. Julie lives in Florida with her daughter, a spoiled dachshund, a haughty lynx-point Siamese and a wide range of relatives all within driving distance.

Christmas is in THREE months!?! Are you KIDDING me? :fainting:

Gorgeous, gorgeous cover, Julie! Very sensual, too! Love the art AND the image. This one is going to pop right out at people on the bookshelves come December!

Middle of the week contests and giveaways are such fun! Good luck to everyone today! :partyman:

Wow, it looks just amazing – I love it, Julie!

Why should I get this before everyone else? Well, I probably shouldn’t, to be honest. Not only do I have enough books in the tbr, I am not overly stressed with kids or work or other stuff, and am lucky enough to not have to worry about a book budget. I am also lucky enough to have gotten ARCs before, so really, how fair would that be!

No question though, I do want the book! I won’t lie about that LOL. I shouldn’t turn it down, that’s for sure. But I will say if my name was drawn, to choose someone else.

I need it early because I have no patience. I’m a I WANT THINGS now girl. :) No really if I had it early I’d read it and talk the book up with friends and post about it on my blogs and talk about it on some of my yahoogroups.

Although the real reason is I hate waiting. :)

Love the cover, Julie!! It is absolutely gorgeous!! Can’t wait to read the book.

I need this book more than anyone on Plot Monkeys today. I just finished writing a big legal brief on Monday (actually wrote 31 of 39 pages on Sunday and Monday alone (only got 3 hours sleep Sunday night in the process). Yesterday I prepared 51 cases for hearing and 4 cases for meeting/mini-depo. Today I have to go to hearings for 28 of those cases with the slowest judge evah!!! (every hearing is required to take 40 years – okay that is the only exaggeration I’m making here) and also prep 27 more cases for hearing and 16 more cases for meeting/mini-depo. Tomorrow I have to drive 4-5 hours round trip to do the 20 meetings/mini-depo in the a.m. and 51 cases for hearing in the p.m. During the process of all this I have to deal with a bunch of whiney attorneys (no offense to any attorneys out there — some of the ones I deal with are delightful, others ::shudder::. After which time I am going to come home and completely drop. I think this week (including the weekend) may be one of my most brutal weeks for the whole year — and that is saying A LOT!!

In emoticons this pretty much sums up my week: :monkee2: :ohno: :boohoo: :fryingpan: :wallbash: :hissyfit: :cursing:  :scream2: :(

But while I’m dropping I NEED ESCAPE!!!!! Major escape! Phantom’s Touch would give me just the escape I need. That and a huge dose of Calgon. As well as a massage which I plan on scheduling for this weekend.

I’m hoping my weekend is going to look more like this, esp. with Phantom’s Touch in my possession:

 :meditate: :tinitime: :posting: (I’m hoping to get some writing in amongst the relaxing).

Why I must have this book early. ..
I loved Phantom Pleasures. I loved the cover and the story of the enchanted castle that had been moved piece by piece. The story was so cool I just lost myself in the book and didn’t stop reading until I finished it.

Also, as you might have noticed I haven’t been around the jungle much lately.
My life is no fun right now. Two difficult daughters I won’t go there.
My aging mom is not acting right. I am so stressed out that I have lost five pounds that I didn’t need to loose.
Seems like when you think you have it all together you get thrown a curve ball. :(

This cover is abosolutely amazing. When I first glanced at it, it’s one of those things where I had to do a double take. It’s been a good while since I’ve seen a cover not only so wonderfully sensual as this, but the richness in it’s color just grabs at you and you can’t help but think, “I need to touch it.” That’s what first pops in my head. This is a cover that shows smooth and sensual lines of the people, not hard, dark, tough edges that most other covers portray. The people are lost in a sensual moment, and it blends so beautifully together. It not only makes me want to read the book, it makes me want to be the heroine in the book! Very rarely do I get that kind of emotion BEFORE I even read it. This cover looks so unique, I know without a doubt the pages within will do it justice. Being so far behind on my reading, this book would give me that happiness I’ve needed to get myself back to normal after all the crazy doctor visits of the last month. It’d be good to sit down and lose myself in someone else’s story. I definitely throw my name in the hat!

I try to be patient but I’m finding it harder everyday to live without my “Julie” fix. I have reread Phantom Pleasures and that eases the hunger somewhat. But, now, I’m starting to crave more. Yes, I am hooked and if there is an intervention out there I DON’T want it. But, if in some small way you might feel the least little bit sorry for me and the state that I’m in I would love to be one of the proud few to read Phantom’s Touch three months early. (Purely for medicinal purposes only, of course.)

    Hi Julie,

I’m new to Plot Monkeys as of Friday 8/15. I have been back everyday since. Even though I’ve read Romance books for ~25 years. The information on the internet & all the goodies it entails is new to me as of ~1 month ago. Now I spend way too much time here. I now have a TBR shelf (physical books) & TBR for my e-books (Palm as of 1/1/08). I had no idea of the information out there. I have found several new & wonderful authors and I’m enjoying the heck out of it, especially as the 7 year old went back to school on the 7th-woo-hoo!

I would love to have an ARC of your book. Again, I didn’t even know there was such a thing. It would hold a place of honor on my Keepers shelf. The cover is HOT. Looking at it alone in the bookstore would make me pick it up. Getting a book 3 months earlier than everyone else is a dream come true. I have tried to explain to my husband of 19.5+ years when he asks me what I want for Christmas, birthdays, etc… cash or bookstore gift cards- he didn’t get it until he saw how ecstatic I was when I received some signed bookmarks in the mail. Again, didn’t even know about. Can you imagine the joy it would bring me to get an ARC. Which in turn would make my family very happy as I would be unusally easy to live with for quit sometime.

    Thank you for your consideration,
    Susan B.

Ok, I have had a very rough week or so. Only 7 days to close then re-open the school. Ick! year-round bites. Also, lots of pressure from admin and teachers. Ick! education is stressful!

Wow – - this is the best cover ever. I have a group of friends from highschool, we call ourselves “Mommies Gone Wild” because every year we take our “Mommies” trip, just the 5 of us, no husbands, no kids, just relaxation. All we do is lay in the pool on a raft and read but of course, with a name like “Mommies Gone Wild” everyone thinks we’re out partying and doing more than we should. However, getting to the reason I need this book is so that I can, for once, pass on books to others to read. It seems like with my work schedule, kids schedules, I’m always getting the book recommendations from others and I want to give the recommendation and to give that, I must read it first. Wow, how’s that for a wordy reason behind why I want and need this book so bad.

I would love to win an early copy because if I had to wait 3 more months for it, I might go crazy and try to break into B&N’s backroom to get my hands on it! If I broke in, then that would result in jail time and that would be a shame just because I have to get my hands on this book! LOL :) In all seriousness, I really enjoyed Phantom Pleasures and would love to read this book too. I would spread the word about how wonderful the book is and recommend it to my friends also. :)

I need the ARC because I spend all day long with kids, some my own and some not. I’m a volunteer monitor at my kids’ school and I make sure nobody gets hurt during recess. Today it’s 100 degrees outside and the kinders spent recess screeching like cats! Besides that, my husband flies at night, no he is not Batman, so that leaves my nights a bit lonely. Reading is my sanctuary and I cannot imagine anyone feeling lonely with that book in hand. The cover was like a fantasy- you could almost touch the passion between those two. What an excellent art department-kudos on the truly beautiful cover.

Even if I don’t win I will be buying the book- Phantom Pleasures was one of my all-time favs. I sent it to my best friend but only because she promised to send it back.

Wow what a beautiful and sensual cover! Love it!

I need this ARC because work has been hectic and I need to relax with an awesome book (I’ve read “Phantom Pleasures and loved it) to read.

    Thanks!

Ok honestly? The cover is awesome! The author who wrote it is even better! The reason why I need it? I need to finish my collection of your books! The sooner the better, right? You are so awesome to award 2 ARC’s if your sensantional new book Julie!

Your books are absolutely over-the-top smokin hot! :onfire:

Its a breathtaking cover Julie! The h/h stand out as well as the way they made it mostly orange and the white. Gosh, I thought the same thing when I saw this, I love it even more than the other cover but I love that one too.

So would love to be in the contest for the ARC. Thanks Julie!

WOW. Gorgeous cover. Fits the title perfectly.

I have to have this book! After checking out my bookshelf I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t have any book with a cover half as hot as Phantom’s Touch. :ohno:
And I really want to read it :)

Hey jungle friends…while you are all in bed or waking up really early, I am just popping in to say hello…

Jules, I absolutely love the colour…how are you going to top this one for the next book…anyway…forget my question on facebook, since you answered it here…I should have visited the jungle first…anyway, on to the random drawing…

I have no dire reasons as to why I should get PT way, way early other than the fact that I love this serious…some of the reasons are really funny…

I feel bad for Kelly R. she really needs an escape right about now…Kelly keep your head…I don’t know how you do what you do…have a great day, and rest, drink water, go for a walk, just get out of the house/office, and just breathe…good luck with the drawing…

    Peace and love,
    Paula R.

    Peace and love,
    Paula R.

:flower4you:Love the cover! Dutch Elm took my humongous elm last week and all extra $$ will go toward paying the :gagged:$3000 removal bill. Need Phantom’s Touch to console myself.

Wow, Julie, fabulous cover. I’m dying to read the book (but Kelly R. probably deserves it more, after the week she’s having).

I need a copy of this ARC because my critique partner keeps gushing and gushing about how AMAZING Julie Leto is and if I don’t read her, I’m missing out big time. She’d FLIP if I got an ARC I could hold over her head (and of course, eventually share with her…IF she gives me good crits for awhile!)

Reasons why I need this book 3 months early:
1)we had to put down our puppy wuppy(13 1/2 yrs. old) last week and I so MISS him; the house is too quiet with him gone so the book to read would do wonders for me.

2)I need something to do to fill in time with puppy gone

3)Did I mention that dh will be hauling grain for a farmer and b/c puppy is gone I’m going with him so I am not alone;the book would be awesome to read while sitting in the truck.

    Thanks.

Why I seriously need to win a copy of this book before anyone else gets their hands on it is I have a zero love life been married to a looser for 14 years ZERO romance for the last 8 years in our relationship. So at least I can only dream while reading the “PHANTOM’S TOUCH” I am not kidding!
