And now for the Sunday Funny:
An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard; I could tell
from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was
well taken care of.
He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head;
he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the
hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.
An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.
The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour. This continued off and on for several weeks.
Curious I pinned a note to his collar: ‘I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.’
The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar: ‘He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 – he’s trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?’

Carly Phillips would like to take 100% credit for all her stories but the truth is, Carly’s strength is writing family, emotion, funky elderly people and animals. She couldn’t plot her way out of a paper bag, which is why she smartly found her plotmonkey pals early on in her writing career. Thanks to their support, Carly is now a NYT Bestselling author of 23 plus novels. Because writing doesn’t keep her busy enough, Carly is also a wife, a mother of one preteen and one teenage daughter, the primary care giver of her soft coated Wheaten terrier and an expert carpool mom.

Congrats Michele!
I just loved the funny!
Zoey and I have been reading a lot lately.
So many books and so little time.
The latest was the new book by Christine Feehan,
Turbulent Seas. It’s one of the Drake sister books and
so far my absolute favorite. The sex scene is a scorcher.
I have also, at Janelle’s recomendation a few months back,
been reading all of Linda Lael Miller’s books.
They are great and I am now hooked on another author.
I just can’t seem to keep that to be read pile down.
The last 2 I read were Deadly Gamble and Deadly Deceptions.
They are go togethers and Wally World is selling them both
so they are priced right. They are also wonderful reads.
Today I think I am going to read Roxanne St. Claire’s, Then you Hide.
It is the second in this Bullet catcher series. I already read First You Run
and Now You Die comes out in Sept.
I hope you all have a safe trip home.
I am trying t get all I can out of the last several weeks of summer.
I’m sure I’ll be back to works daily grind in the fall.
If you need a good HUG today, close your eye wrap your arms
around yourself and I’ll give you a big Grandma sqeeze.

The college I attended (small Methodist college) had a beagle named Althea. She had no official owner but everyone took care of her. That was one PLUMP beagle. She had houses off-campus she would visit on specific days. Loved the funny today. Enjoyed meeting y’all at conference! Crazy women!
