Sorry I’m late! Had dinner in the city last night with family and forgot to blog! And since I’m late, I’m going to just post a picture of why I’m the luckiest person on the planet.
Why are YOU the luckiest? And try to think OUTSIDE of the box!
PS – there has been some confusion with HOT PROPERTY. If you open the book and it looks like the first ten pages are missing, if you have the Prologue, everything is FINE. The book STARTS on page TEN. If, on the other hand, you realize some pages are missing, you should always contact the publisher. They NEED to know! You should let me know too and I’ll pass the word along, but the real resolution lies with them! I’m working on getting a contact address for you so you can replace the book if you can’t go to the bookstore and return. I don’t want anyone to get frustrated and NOT buy my books!!!

Carly Phillips would like to take 100% credit for all her stories but the truth is, Carly’s strength is writing family, emotion, funky elderly people and animals. She couldn’t plot her way out of a paper bag, which is why she smartly found her plotmonkey pals early on in her writing career. Thanks to their support, Carly is now a NYT Bestselling author of 23 plus novels. Because writing doesn’t keep her busy enough, Carly is also a wife, a mother of one preteen and one teenage daughter, the primary care giver of her soft coated Wheaten terrier and an expert carpool mom.

First I’d just like to say that your dogs are gorgeous Carly. :grin1:
I find that it’s hard to choose just one reason why I’m the luckiest person in the world. But since I have to think outside the box, I’d have to say I’m lucky to be the spiritual person I am. It took one very dark night and a big mistake for my eyes to be opened up. And since that time, my whole life has changed, and I’ve changed. Not a day goes by that no matter what problems I have, I’m grateful for the chance to see another sunrise.

Buddy and Baily are so cute!
I would have to say that I’m the luckiest person in the world because after my nieces left my house on Saturday night to go home, my middle niece and I were texting for an hour because she missed being with me. I’m closer to her older sister, so it means so much that she wanted to keep talking to me.

I wish I had had a camera last night handy when I got home from my HS reunion. I had a doxie on my lap, one next to me, the lab on the other side and a cat sitting on the back of the couch. This was after they all greeted us at the door. Do you think they missed me? I spend the night with the little guys cuddled up to me and the cat came up this morning. Thankfully they all get along.
The other 2 cats deigned to look at me as they walked past.

I am lucky for my boys…they are so funny and even though they are giving me the ‘tweenies” (They aren’t even close to being a tweenie), I still get lots of snuggles and huggles….hubby is a good guy, too…

Huh…I just checked my copy of Hot Property. It seems the printer started counting on the first printed page and then started numbering the pages with page 10 which is the second page of the prologue.
is up with that? Happily, all of the story is present and accounted for, Carly!” Love the fuzzy pups!
I’m really lucky to have the family I do – each and every one of them handpicked. Well, except for my daughter but she turned out to be awesome anyway. I was adopted and after my much-loved adopted father died, I learned how truly dysfunctional my family was. I created my own “family” out of friends that I trust with my life, my child, my welfare, and my love. I have a terrific husband, also handpicked twenty-five years ago, who applauds my creativity and rather warped imagination and cheers me on despite my lack of success so far – I’m a long way from giving up my dream to be published. So here’s to picking your own!
Be it family, dreams, careers, successes, or just plain ol’ living!
Oh…and did I miss it (in all likelihood)? Did someone finally win the RWA tapes for the Writing Themed Giveaway back on July 5? Ya’ll were waiting for Janelle to get back….Just curious…

Bailey and Buddy are adorable!
Okay, we’re supposed to think outside the box on this, right? So, besides, my daughter, my husband and Spike and being here in Colorado, my writing, having the Plotmonkeys as friends–here’s another reason Why I’m the Luckiest Person on the Planet–
I have never been able to grow tomato plants successfully unti this year. Here’s why. My husband brought home this little praying garden gnome. You see, we planted some trees along our back fence and they died each time so we re-planted yet again and two of the trees survived but the middle one died again, so we re-planted and beside this middle tree I put the garden gnome. I also put my tomato plants beside this tree. You guessed it! The tree and “3″ tomato plants are thriving!! I swear it’s the gnome!! :giggle:

My 22nd wedding anniversary was Saturday. And that reminded me why I am the luckiest person on the planet.
The puppies are adorable Carly!

The dogs are so cute.
I’m the luckest person in the world because of Science Guy. He is super supportive of my writing and really anything else I want to do. He understands when my time is needed by my chapter and when he needs to say to me, “Are you going to write tonight? You didn’t write last night, remember?”
And of course my children and friends…Yep, I’m one very lucky girl!

Awww… Carly, what a good reason! So… out of the box, I’m the luckiest person in the world because I don’t always get what I think I want. I don’t always seem to appreciate this at the time, but it’s been such a good thing that I’m thankful this is the case
(A biggie is not getting the guy I thought I wanted… or getting a job that I thought I wanted… or getting pregnant when I thought I’d wanted… obviously I could go on!)

Carly I’ll always buy your books no worries here (unless I win them of course

Love the picture Carly.
I’m the luckiest person because I have two wonderful daughters, 3 wonderful granchildren, my health, food on the table, a roof over my head, a brother that is there for me, good friends. Sometimes it is the little things in life that make it the best. Oh yea, I can read thank heavens for that. There is a lot to be grateful for each and every day.

That’s a good reason to be late. You’re dogs are adorable.
I’m lucky because I have a great husband, who lets me be my own person and is supportive of the things I want to do (most of the time). I also have to great kids and animals, that always make me smile.
Have a fabulous week.

I am so lucky today because it’s 98 degrees outside and I have a swimming pool. And to add something special to the mix, my 4 year old nephew just came over to join me. I am truly lucky today!

I saw two dogs the other day that looked just like Buddy! They were riding in the back seat of a car and they would run from one window to the other, back and forth, back and forth. Hubby and I laughed for 5 minutes at those dogs. And they had TN tags on the car!! We wondered if the dogs had been doing that back and forth routine for hours!!
Okay, why am I the luckiest? Last Wed. marked the 1 year anniversary of us finding out about hubby’s brain tumor. I knew 7/16 would always hold horrible memories for me so, in an effort to put some positive memories on the day, I got my novella polished to a spit shine and submitted it to 2 e-book publishers.
Both have requested the full!!!!
I know that doesn’t mean it’s sold, but it must not be total crap or they both wouldn’t have requsted to read more of it so I feel like it’s a major accomplishment on my path.
Oh, and hubby’s doing great! His seizures are very few and far between and he’s finished his second round of chemo tablets without any side-effects. I am the luckiest person in the world, and thanks for letting us all share why we think so!!!

Everyday, I am grateful just to wake up (that sounds so corny). I am so blessed in my life.
We had a great day….tonight, is yoga (me time!)….there’s school tomorrow morning and my oldest two had a great swim lessons. Now, if my youngest would stop being cranky pants, life would be even that much greater (even when he is cranky, I am still greatful for him).

I feel lucky that I’m alive, that God has blessed me with a wonderful family and good friends,
the ability to enjoy all that He has given me and the facility to share my blessings with others.

I am the luckiest person on Earth because I had 20 years with four grandparents. And now that they are all gone (and I miss them like crazy), the bf’s grandparents (six of ‘em!!) have accepted me as part of the family.

The dogs are so cute
I’m lucky since I got a nice note from my friend whose wedding I’m in. It was all about how I was appreciated. It was nice as well, what’s being a bridesmaid without a little drama. Or in some cases, a lot.

AWWWwwwww…….now that is the cutest thing I have seen in a long time Carly! You with your two loving dogs! You should have that as your background on your computer, if you haven’t already!
O.k. I am the luckiest person in the world because…
I have my sight. I feel so sad for people who can’t see pictures and colors like we can who have our vision. I was sitting at the beach with my friend who is a visually impaired teacher and she asked me, how I would describe the beach to someone who is blind. I mean, really, how could you tell them the colors of the sky, the water, the clouds, the color of the sand, etc. It is very hard to describe things like that to a blind person unless they actually had their sight before they went blind. It makes us all feel so very fortunate that we are able to see and appreciate the beauty all around us!

Love the picture, Carly.
That’s great news about your novella, Jodie. Good Luck!
I’m lucky because I get to live in Colorado, surrounded by my family, including my grandmother who bowls with my parents and I every Thursday night.
