LAURIE G! Message #1!
Congrats, Laurie! Please send me your snail mail addy. My email is julie at julieleto dot com.
Now, I went on a river tubing trip with my family yesterday to celebrate oldest’s 20th birthday (Happy Birthday baby!) Anyway, I slathered 50 spf sunscreen all over myself, but I somehow managed to miss my entire right arm. And it is FRIED. Truly killing me.
So in honor of my sunburn, here’s today’s funny…
++++++++++++++++++++
A man was on holiday in the Caribbean and liking the continual good weather settled down for a day’s sunbathing. He fell asleep and after a whole day his legs were sunburnt beyond belief and he could hardly stand for the pain.
So he goes along to the doctor for treatment. The doctor looks at his sunburnt legs and said, ‘well, you realize that this is only a small village surgery and in reality I’ve really got nothing at all to help you. However, try this and gives him one tablet of Viagra.
So the man says ‘but I’ve got acute sunburn what’s a Viagra tablet going to do? The doctor says, ‘basically, nothing at all for the sunburn but it will help keep the sheets off of your legs tonight.’

Leslie Kelly used to say she wanted to be a doctor when she grew up, but then she discovered Nancy Drew books. Being a flashlight-under-the-covers-nose-in-book reader throughout her childhood, she couldn’t think of anything else she’d rather do as an adult than continue to lose herself in fictional stories. Her real life marriage of 20 years to the man of her dreams is a constant reinforcement that happily-ever-afters really can happen…and that they’re worth writing about. Living in Maryland, Leslie spends her non-writing time laughing a lot with the above-mentioned romance hero and their three daughters. Though an author of more than thirty sexy, contemporary comedies, she has recently branched out to write dark romantic suspense under the pseudonym Leslie Parrish.

I am looking forward to all the reports from national.
Great funny especially since I spent yesterday outside at Country Fest. Did a lot of drinking but did remember by sunscreen- including the tops of my feet and my ears. Just a little pink today. Hope you feel better Leslie!!

Great funny Leslie!
Leslie use an aloe cooling gel on your arm. That should help.

Love the Sunday funny, Leslie!
In regard to your sunburn–tea bags. Put some lukewarm water–not hot– in a bowl and dunk some tea bags in it, then press the tea bags on your arm. You’ll have to do this over the sink so you can let the “tea” sort of run over your skin. You can even break them open and put the wet leaves directly on your skin. I tried this once years ago when I had a horrible and I mean horrible sunburn pretty much all over and boy did it make a difference. After you do that, there is some Aloe sunburn gel that you can get at the drug store that has some pain relief stuff in it that helps as well. It feels really cool and soothing when you put it on.
Hope you feel better–soon!

Leslie, I love the funny!!
Sorry to hear about your sunburn, I’ve had some nasty ones so can understand how you are feeling. I had one so bad one time it hurt to wear anything!! My skin is very fair & I have learned to be very careful! Hope it feels better soon and that you are doing something to relieve the “ouch”. :flamer:

Congratulations to the winners!
Leslie, I feel your pain. I have to reapply spf 50 about every hour I’m out in the sun. I’ve had second degree burns on my back before, when I was younger, and ended up with inch diameter blisters. It was very uncomfortable and pretty painful when a few of them popped while I was sleeping one night. I hope your burn heals quickly. Thanks for the funny!
