Writing Themed Giveaway (RWA Conference Tapes!)
Janelle Icon

Since we don’t have a writing related blog today, I’m giving away a set of writing related tapes from a RWA conference. This is from my personal library and is chocked full of some great information and topics on all aspects of writing!

TAPES INCLUDE:
How to Take Charge of Your Career (Debbie Macomber & Joan Johnston)
Ten Tricks That Help When Your Book Falls Apart (Ann Major & Annette Broadrick)
Tall, Dark & Believable (Suzanne Brockman)
So . . . The Audience isn’t Naked. Now What Do You Do? (Nancy Fraser)
Luncheon Keynote (Teresa Medeiros)
How to Create a Promotion Blueprint on any Budget (Nancy Berland)
Writing More, While Writing Better (Susan Mallery)
Saturday Special Speaker (Suzanne Brockman)

If you would like a chance to win this set of writing related tapes, all you need to do is post a note on today’s blog, then check back tomorrow (Sunday) to see if you’re name was drawn as the winner!

Janelle

JanelleJanelle Denison finds it hard to believe that it’s been nearly 25 years since she first started writing romance novels. At first, it was a way to pass idle time while her husband worked swing shift, but before long it became an obsession to get published. Luckily, she kept at it (it took her over 5 years to get that first book published!) and is now a Waldenbooks, Barnes & Noble, and USA Today Bestselling author! Now, after selling over 45 plus novels, she finds that her Plotmonkey pals help to keep her stories fresh and unique, and she can’t imagine writing a story without their input. Janelle lives in Oregon with her husband, Don, along with two teenage daughters that keep life interesting.

Hey Janelle!! Great to see you back in the jungle. Hope the move has been smooth and easy and you’re all getting settled.

Don’t enter me for the drawing because I can actually listen to the conference tapes through my RWA Online chapter. But I have a question about how to get the tapes and workbook. I won the workbook here last August and I can’t tell you how much I’ve used it and how wonderful it is.

I was going to have a friend get the tapes/workbook for me at conference and then send them to me but neither of us have been before and don’t know how it works. Do you pay for them there and then they send the out after conference? Or are they able to put them all together before conference actually ends and you can pick them up there?

If you could give me a little insight into how it all works I would be very, very grateful!! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

What a great give-away! I’m in the middle of one of of those projects that refuses to come together. (Which is why I’m cruising the blogs. Otherwise, I’d be considering tossing the computer out the window right now.) So, please, toss my hat into the ring.

Oh my goodness that is a wonderful giveaway! I think the fact that you girls are encouraging others to write are wonderful and these tapes are definitely a step in the right direction! The process seems very difficult to get into, but with small steps and the right drive, I’m sure success will be on the way! :cheer:

Great prize, and great set of speakers on the tapes. I listen to Debbie Macomber any chance I get, even if I’ve heard her give a particular workshop or speech before. I always get something new out of it.

This is a fabulous prize. Some of those workshops sound great. I don’t recognize which conference they’re from, though.

And I really wish I had a cassette player….maybe my Dad has one I can borrow (I win)…

Hi, everyone! Janelle’s not actually “here” yet…still settling in from the move. These tapes are so awesome! She put together some really great writer-related giveaways for the month. Hope you all enjoy them!

I love these tapes. I used to listen to mine all the time.

Oh, last I checked, you pay for your CDs at National…and I think you get them on the spot on the last day, but I could be very wrong. They are MP3, so they can’t be played on just any CD player…unless that’s changed? A quick email to RWA should answer any questions.

WOW! How I would LOVE this prize. I have just begun writing about 6 months ago I hear the voices but getting them down on paper isn’t as easy at it might sound. I just printed out my application to join RWA. I would give my right arm for this gift.

Thanks, Julie, for the answer. :rotfl1: I never thought to e-mail RWA. I guess I always think of them as just being a website but not an actual person around. I’ll send them an e-mail and ask. Thanks!!

Hope you’re continuing to improve every day!

I am, Jodie, thanks. Slowly but surely. I’ve cut down on my pain meds (I’m nearly off them) and I actually sat at the PC today instead of the laptop, which gives me a lot more freedom. I just NEED to get out of the house. I’m going to try and schedule a movie this week…ANYTHING to get out. Of course, I’ll have to rope my mother into driving. I don’t think I’m quite up to that yet.

    Thanks for asking!

Patty, I’m glad we can help out our writer-readers…I’m trying to line up some spectacular authors for August!

This is a fantastic prize! I have been considering for a while now on writing a book since I love romance novels so much. I have faltered on how to get started, how to plot a book, writing tips, etc. This is the ultimate prize for anyone wishing to write.

    Good luck to all!
