Winner and Sunday Funnies!
Julie Icon

We have lots of winners this week!

First up, the winner of Diana Peterfreund’s Wednesday contest is:

Karin, #41! Please contact Diana at (diana at dianapeterfreund dot com). Yeah! I just got my copy of Rites of Spring (Break) and I’m halfway through already and LOVING it!

Second, the winner of my Friday QUEEN FOR A DAY chocolate contest is:

#18, Silver J! Silver, give me an email shout out with your home address and I’ll get it right out to you, via Red Envelope. Thanks! (julie at julieleto dot com).

And the winner of yesterday’s Rachel Hauck giveaway is:

# 14, Carmen T! Congratulations Carmen! Please send Rachel an email with your mailing information. (rachel at rachelhauck dot com)

This one is because in my current state of recovery, most of the housework is falling to husband. In his honor, we have the following:

One day my housework-challenged husband decided to wash his sweat-shirt. Seconds after he stepped into the laundry room, he shouted to me, ‘What setting do I use on the washing machine?’
‘It depends,’ I replied. ‘What does it say on your shirt?’

He yelled back, ‘ University of Oklahoma .’

And they say blondes are dumb…

Julie Leto

JulieBy all reports, Julie Leto was a sweet child once, somewhat shy, preferring to play quietly in her room making up stories. However, being raised with three brothers in a loud, primarily Italian household did have its influences and Julie discovered her inner tough girl. That’s probably why most of her heroines kick serious butt. Writing sassy heroines has worked out, as she’s sold over forty books to four publishers featuring strong, confident women. Julie lives in Florida with her daughter, a spoiled dachshund, a haughty lynx-point Siamese and a wide range of relatives all within driving distance.

Congrats to all the winners :)

Hope everyone is enjoying a great weekend. It’s supposed to be sunny and in the low 70′s, which is just perfect to me. I plan on going to see the new Angelina Jolie movie “Wanted” today with a friend. Hope it’s as good as it looks. And I just love James McAvoy – yummy.

Thanks Jeannie & Paula!! I wasn’t exactly sure how readers would react to a hero with, umh, *that* backstory. :rotfl1:

:winner: ME! I seem to have misplaced my crown somewhere. *looks around* Oh well! I’ll share my chocolates though! Thanks so much, Julie! You and the other Plot Monkeys are just the greatest. :cheer: I’ve got such a huge back list of books to read as I catch up on the awesomeness that is ya’ll!

And the wife in that joke? I’m betting she was an Oklahoma State graduate! (Why yes, I do live in the center of the college football universe – at least according to the OU fans. *much sarcasm* At my house, we bleed orange and black – that OTHER Oklahoma university. :razz3: ) I can’t wait to pass the joke along to the hubby!

Hope everyone here in the jungle has had a great weekend! I’m off to the bookstore. Yayayayayay! I shall eat chocolate and read romances as is befitting of my “title”. (Now if I can only convince the hubby, child, and critters of that… *snorfle*)

Julie, take care and take it easy until you are healed! And thanks again! SO MUCH!

I love the funny today, Julie. It sounds like a friend of mine whose mother still does his laundry, even though he’s in his mid-20s.

I hope your recovery continues to go well.

Julie, I loved the joke. Thanks! Don’t worry about the housework, I’m sure hubby is doing his best. It won’t go anywhere & your dear daughter is old enough to help. If it really bugs you & is getting out of hand, call one of the bonded maid services in the phone book to come clean house!! I hope your recovery is going smoothly. Take care. :hug2:
