JANELLE’S “BORN TO BE WILDE” ARC Contest Winners. Note from Janelle: There was only supposed to be one winner of this contest, but since it was so INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT just to pick ONE winner, I’m actually giving away TWO ARC copies of BORN TO BE WILDE. Also, there were so many GREAT posts that I put all my favorites into a bowl and had each of my daughters pick a winner. I just couldn’t do it myself! Thank you everyone for posting and being so creative!

THE WINNERS ARE:

:cooldance: Kelly F. (Comment #6) :cooldance:
:cheer: Carolanne (Comment #29) :cheer:

Kelly and Carolanne — Please contact me at janelledenison@sbcglobal.net with your mailing information!

And now:

GREAT TRUTHS THAT LITTLE CHILDREN HAVE LEARNED:

1) No matter how hard you try, you can’t baptise cats.
2) When your Mum is mad at your Dad, don’t let her brush your hair.
3) If your sister hits you, don’t hit her back. They always catch the second person.
4) Never ask your 3-year old brother to hold a tomato.
5) You can’t trust dogs to watch your food.
6) Don’t sneeze when someone is cutting your hair.
7) Never hold a Dust-Buster and a cat at the same time.
8) You can’t hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk.
9) Don’t wear polka-dot underwear under white shorts.
10) The best place to be when you’re sad is Grandpa’s lap.

What’s your Favorite?
For laughs, mine is: 1) No matter how hard you try, you can’t baptise cats.
Runner up for truth: 3) If your sister hits you, don’t hit her back. They always catch the second person.

GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED:

1) Raising teenagers is like nailing jelly to a tree.
2) Wrinkles don’t hurt.
3) Families are like fudge…mostly sweet, with a few nuts.
4) Today’s mighty oak is just yesterday’s nut that held its ground.
5) Laughing is good exercise. It’s like jogging on the inside.
6) Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fibre, not the toy.

What’s your Favorite?
Mine is: 6) Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fibre, not the toy.

GREAT TRUTHS ABOUT GROWING OLD

1) Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.
2) Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get.
3) When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you’re down there.
4) You’re getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.
5) It’s frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.
6) Time may be a great healer, but it’s a lousy beautician.
7) Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.

What’s your favorite?
Mine is: 6) Time may be a great healer, but it’s a lousy beautician.

THE FOUR STAGES OF LIFE:

1) You believe in Santa Claus.
2) You don’t believe in Santa Claus.
3) You are Santa Claus.
4) You look like Santa Claus.

My two cents on this: :happy2::happy2::happy2:

SUCCESS:

At age 4 success is . . not piddling in your pants.
At age 12 success is . . . having friends.
At age 17 success is . .. having a drivers licence.
At age 35 success is . having money.
At age 50 success is . . . having money.
At age 70 success is . .. . having a drivers licence.
At age 75 success is . . having friends.
At age 80 success is . . . not piddling in your pants.

My two cents on this: : :fryingpan: :fryingpan::fryingpan:

AND LAST:
THE HARDEST PART OF BEING A SEEING EYE DOG:

Always remember to forget the troubles that pass your way;
BUT NEVER forget the blessings that come each day.

Have a wonderful day Take the time to live!!!
Life is too short. Dance naked
HAPPY SUNDAY!

Carly

CarlyCarly Phillips would like to take 100% credit for all her stories but the truth is, Carly’s strength is writing family, emotion, funky elderly people and animals. She couldn’t plot her way out of a paper bag, which is why she smartly found her plotmonkey pals early on in her writing career. Thanks to their support, Carly is now a NYT Bestselling author of 23 plus novels. Because writing doesn’t keep her busy enough, Carly is also a wife, a mother of one preteen and one teenage daughter, the primary care giver of her soft coated Wheaten terrier and an expert carpool mom.

    Love the funnies.

This one was so true in my family. I always got in trouble for this. :)

8O OH MY GOD!! You have no idea how happy/stunned I am right now. I will have a perma smile on my face now for the rest of the day. Oh…and just wait until I tell my sister what I won. She is going to pass out. She LOVES the Wilde series. Thank you so much Janelle. And hug your daughter for me too. :)

    Congrats to all the winners!:cooldance:

The great truth for me was: Never let your mom brush your hair if she’s mad at your dad. I had hair to my waist and my parents were seperated for 2 years before they divorced  Oh, I distinctly remember this!

The truth for my son is the hitting back part – 2 days of in-school suspension last month for that:wallbash:

I’m so bummed that I’ve gotta wait until Sept. to find out about Joel – time to go sooth myself with some Smores Poptarts and Oreo icecream. I think we need some serious eye-candy, Janelle, for all of us who have to wait sooooo long! :violin:

Hope everyone has a great weekend. My son’s BD is tomorrow so the whole family is coming tonight for dinner – Ugh, ice cream, here I come!

Great truth of growing old, I’m at #3 :hide:

The seeing eye dog is a howl!

    Oh Carly,

About the Dancing nude maybe outside in the yard.

Although it’s only wild life I’m sure it would be

a traumatic experience to some poor moose.:happy2:

    HAve a wonderful day everyone.
