DADDY’S GONNA EAT YOUR FINGERS …

I was packing for my business trip and my three year old daughter was having a wonderful time playing on the bed. At one point she said, “Daddy, look at this,” and stuck out two of her fingers. Trying to keep her entertained, I reached out and stuck her tiny fingers in my mouth and said, “Daddy’s gonna eat your fingers,” pretending to eat them. I went back to packing, looked up again and my daughter was standing on the bed staring at her fingers with a devastated look on her face.

I said, “What’s wrong, honey?”

She replied, “What happened to my booger?”

CarlyCarly Phillips would like to take 100% credit for all her stories but the truth is, Carly’s strength is writing family, emotion, funky elderly people and animals. She couldn’t plot her way out of a paper bag, which is why she smartly found her plotmonkey pals early on in her writing career. Thanks to their support, Carly is now a NYT Bestselling author of 23 plus novels. Because writing doesn’t keep her busy enough, Carly is also a wife, a mother of one preteen and one teenage daughter, the primary care giver of her soft coated Wheaten terrier and an expert carpool mom.

Ooooohhhhhhh – yak!! But every parent can understand. When my youngest was in a walker we were in the backyard doing yard work. He rolled over to me and he had this purplish stuff on his face. I freaked out because there was a bush back there that had berries on it and we hadn’t determined if they were poisonous or not (I know bad, neglectful parents). Anyway, upon futher investigation I found some finger streaks through the bird poo on the swing set. I was so yucked out I think I could have handled the poisonous berries better!!:wallbash:

    Congrats Diane!!

I am rooting for the commercials- I don’t care which team wins. it’s watching it on hubby’s new big screen that will be fun. Are we bad because we didn’t tell any of the kids we got it, so they don’t come over tonite????

I am a huge football fan and the advantage of not having my team in the

game; I can enjoy a hopefully super game and whoever wins will be great.

Loved the 2 fingers funny. Congrats Diane.

    Congrats, Diane! :cooldance:

    Priceless funny, Carly!

I am with ev. I am rooting for the commercials this year. My sister looked at me yesterday and asked me who was in the Super Bowl. I told her the Bears and the Colts, which prompted her to ask who are we rooting for. We decide it would be best to root for commercials and halftime this year.
Have a fabulous Super Bowl Sunday everyone!!!

Too funny, JOdie. I really think gross stuff are ritualistic rites of parenthood.

Carly, he’s now 11 and it continues. He just called me and said, “I’m on my way home, would you mind looking at my duck, it’s really pretty.”

    It’s really dead!!!

I hate hunting, I hate dead animals and the child spends every second he can hunting with his grandfather. He knows how much all that stuff really creeps me out but he was so darned polite about it I couldn’t refuse. I’ll just have the barf bag ready!

OK, I’ve survived. He got a really clean shot at it so it wasn’t all gross and disgusting. I’m not real thrilled about the fact that it’s wrapped in a grocery bag in my freezer :hissyfit: but I’m coming to grips with it.

    Funny! Yuk!
I grew up with a Dad that hunted & a brother who became & is a hunter. Most game is all good eating!! Of course I prefer to see it wrapped in white butcher paper but tastes good & I wouldn’t mind having some venison in my freezer!! :)
Have fun watching the Super Bowl, like most everyone else for me this year it’s all about the commercials & half time! I just hope it is a good game. :)

Okay, I MUST tell you this story because it is so much like today’s funny!

My youngest was about 2. We were at the mall (all of us) and she was in her little umbrella stroller. Bruce is pushing her, he went into a store, I was out in the mall with the other 2 girls waiting for him. He’s focused on whatever he’s looking at and I see the little one digging into her nose, then trying to get his attention. The older girls and I just keep watching…so finally, he pays attention to her, asks her what she wants and she sticks her index finger up in the air. He thought she had a boo boo so he bent down and kissed it!!!

The older two girls and I were almost rolling on the floor of the mall. Absolutely hilarious.
