Favorite Monkey Books

Today, we decided to ask each other what ended up being a pretty tough question…pick your favorite book by the other plotmonkeys! We’re all each other’s biggest fans, of course, but how do you pick when you love all the books. We managed it…feel free to add your favorites to the list!

Carly: My favorite plotmonkey books are as follows:
Janelle Denison – I’m in LOVE with the secret santa anthology story Janelle is currently writing now, but in fairness to readers who might want to find it NOW, my favorite Janelle story that is available is WILDE THING. Oooh, steamy! Nobody does sensuality like Janelle!
Leslie Kelly – SHE DRIVES ME CRAZY -
Leslie’s talent for fun and dialogue leaves me drooling with envy! Her humor is amazing.
Julie Leto – I love ALL Julie’s books, and I know it really sucks to do this to you all, but one of her old ones, PRIVATE LESSONS has my heart. I hope it’s still available or will be again soon!

Leslie: I really loved Carly’s first Hot Zone book, HOT STUFF. Loved meeting Annabelle and her sisters and her Uncle Yank, and ex-football star Brandon was a sexy hero with a ton of heart. Warm, sensual and touching. For Janelle’s books, I think I would have to say THE WILDE SIDE. Wilde Side
Maybe because this is the first book I genuinely remember feeling involved in “plotting” at one of our early Plotmonkeys retreats. I also really like the “poor little rich girl” heroine Ashley and her construction worker hero. Of Julie’s books, I really love DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS–totally hot, really adventurous. I love Marisela, can’t wait to see her continue her affair with Frankie but also really want to see her hook up with Ian…and with Max! Julie, keep ‘em comin’, honey!

Julie: Oh! What a fun question! Okay, for Carly Phillips, I have to say BRAZEN, Brazen which was recently re-released. I just knew I was going to be a lifelong fan (and this was before we were friends!) when I read that book. So fun and sexy. Risky. I like a risky book. For Janelle, I’d have to say HEAT WAVES. It was a Blaze set in Chicago and man, oh, man, was it ever hot. Classic Janelle–great banter between the hero and heroine. For Leslie, I hardly have to think twice…TWO TO TANGLE. Picture it–sinfully sexy man dancing alone in the rain. ::sigh:: Fabulous heroine, too, and wonderful secondary characters. I’m so lucky to be in such talented company!

Janelle: Great question, but a tough one since it’s so hard to pick just ONE favorite! Carly: To date, my favorite book of hers is HOT ITEM. I love rough and tough football player Riley. And then there’s Sophie, who puts on a tough act but is so soft and vulnerable inside. The two of them together makes for a wonderful, sexy story! Leslie: I absolutely loved KILLING TIME. Talk about a sexy bad boy — Mick can make any woman swoon! I mean, who wouldn’t absolutely fall for a guy who has a Big Bad Wolf tatoo on his backside? And I really enjoyed all the humor Leslie put into this book while writing about a murder-mystery reality show. Julie: DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS. Wow, what a hot, sexy, adventurous story! Marisela and Frankie are explosive together, and I’m even rooting for Ian to get some, too, LOL! It’s hard to resist a book that opens with the line, “I remember when you used to stroke me like that.”

Leslie Kelly – She Drives Me Crazy.

Julie E. Leto – I am sorry to say I havent read one of hers. Dont slap me.

Hmmmm, this is not going to be easy. I am currently reading my first Julie Leto book ” Dirty Little Secrets” and I am loving it.

Leslie – I haven’t read one from her yet, but have two on the way that I am sying to receive. I also went nuts looking for “Her Last Temptation” but haven’t had any luck finding it yet. I didn’t want to buy a used copy because I know she wouldn’t benefit from the sale.

Carly – I don’t think I can pick just one. It started with the Chandler brothers, and now I am addicted to the “Hot” series.

Janelle – I have the book “Naughty or Nice” here to be read.

Thanks Carly for announcing this site and introducing me to these awesome authors!!

Thanks, Kelly! I don’t know if Leslie’s Temptation is available anymore, so used might be the only way to go. I don’t think any of us mind used book sales once the book is out of print. What other choice is there? Personally, I think that used book stores provide a great service in this circumstance. So glad you’re enjoying DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS!

Pat, no one is going to slap you for not having read one of my books, LOL! Part of the reason we started this site was to introduce our work to each other’s readers, though admittedly, we already have a lot of crossover since we started writing in the same category line at Temptation. Hopefully, since I have six books coming out in the next six months, you’ll find something that interests you enough to pick up.

Just wanted to say how much I appreciate all the participation here on the blog. Makes my day to stop by and read the comments…and reminds me of why I do this job–for the readers. If I didn’t get feedback, I don’t know if I’d make it through the rough spots, you know?

Thank Goodness Kelly Ripa picked “The Bachelor” for her book. I have re read it for the third time! I love that series and I call it ‘Hot” series. I am just getting into the other authors (because of this site), but I have enjoyed the others! Keep up the FANTASTIC work, Plot Monkeys! ;)

This question is interesting in that it brought home to me how much of the current books I have not read from the some of the Authors on this Blog….. :(

Carly – I loved the Chandler Brothers, and am so enjoying the Hot series books.

Janelle – I have read alot of your early books and have some of your out of print and hard to find books. But off the top of my head I cannot think of anything really current, which is bad on my part. This I am hoping to rectify.

Julie – I was introduced to through her Blaze, Tempations and have Dirty Little Secrets in my TBR pile to read.

Leslie – Again, I have a lot of your Temptation books and ones you have won awards for, Behind The Red Doors which is tied into your online read, but have to look into some of your more recent things.

I do know I am getting a gift certificate to Chapters for Mother’s Day so you can see where I am going and that I will be adding to my TBR boxes…..

This is just about impossible to do when there are so many great books to choose from! I’m naming these only because each was the first I read by each of you. :)

    Carly – The Bachelor

    Janelle – Wilde Thing

Leslie – She Drives Me Crazy

    Julie – Dirty Little Secrets

Pat! I knew what you meant! So many books, so little time–I totally understand that. I once counted and had over 200 books in my To Be Read pile! I have a ton of authors I’ve been dying to try that I just haven’t gotten around to and I hate it because I know I’m missing out. Sometimes I buy books knowing full well I’ll never read them…not that I don’t WANT to, but because I’m a painfully slow reader and by the time I get to the book, the author will likely have three more out on the shelves, LOL!

Favorite books–that is a tough one! On my keeper shelf for Leslie I have Her Last Temptation ( darn! miss the Temptations), Don’t Open Until Christmas, Trick Me, Treat Me, & Make Me Over. Carly, I loved the Simply series & the Chandler brothers, Julie I have Making Waves on my keeper shelf. Janelle, I don’t see any of your books on my keeper shelf which doesn’t mean I don’t like your writing–just for some reason didn’t keep any of them. I know I have read your books & enjoyed them. I know one I read that was good was The Ultimate Seduction. I also have 2 of Julie’s books in my TBR pile both Blaze & part of the seductions books. Since I tend to want to keep books I loved I have been trying to be very choosy about the books I keep! There is just not enough room, if I ever win the lottery (ha, ha!) I’m going to have a house with a library & a housekeeper so I can just read!!!! :)
    Have a great day everyone & may all the Mom’s have a wonderful Mother’d Day. (f) (f) (g)

I’m loving seeing these comments…thanks so much for the feedback! I have been kind of scarce the past few days, getting ready for the big high school graduation next weekend, and all the stuff leading up to it. Party tonight…so we’ve been running around like crazy, making “senior” goody bags and stuffing a pinata for the “big kids”.

Oh my word!! I almost forgot a book I have read by both Carly and Janelle. “Stroke of Midnight”

Janelle, I LOVED “Meet me at Midnight” I bought the book not knowing who you were as an author. I knew of Carly and bought it to read her story, then continued on to read yours. I LOVED it. Now I am wondering why I hadn’t gone out and bought another book by you after reading it. :s

I also wanted to say it is a relief to know you guys enjoy reading the feedback and comments on the blog. I have to say, I thoroughly enjoy posting here. And it is such a great place to come and pop in when I need a quick break from my day. When you don’t get much adult interaction it is a god send being here. LOL!!

Hi, have all of your books, so, while hard to choose, I’ll try…

Janelle – Heat Waves, loved those love scenes in the limo, high-rise…

Leslie – My favorite Kelly book, & all-time favorite heroine, Kate, in Naturally Naughty. I loved how she was so in charge of her own life & career, yet, wasn’t afraid to add a delicious “absolutely-wrong-for-her guy” to her life. She risked, & I love characters who do that.

Julie – Hard to choose between the two Carmichael sisters’ stories, but, if I must, it’d be Up To No Good, followed very closely by Looking for Trouble. What wonderful “in-your-face” heroines…

As you all can tell, love those Blazes.

Carly – Love the three Morgan sisters & their uncle, but, would probably choose Hot Item as my very favorite to date (looking forward to book 3). Am a great sports fan, & also have enjoyed that aspect. Also liked the Simply series, though…

Hey, Mrs. S! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the book! And that you’re reading lines to your hubby…I’m humbled. I’m glad I gave you a chuck. Marisela cracks me up, too.

And thanks for the ringing endorsement, too. As the sell-in is occuring soon for DIRTY LITTLE LIES (this is when the bookstores make orders) an influx of sales on DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS can’t hurt!
