We’re going to Atlanta!

Well, the four of us are going, anyway!

We know that there are some of our Plotmonkey friends who visit our blog will also be going to the Atlanta RWA conference, or even to the RWA Literacy signing on Wednesday. For those of you who are going to the signing, if you come up to any one of us and say “I LOVE THE PLOTMONKEYS!”, we have something special for you! So, be sure to visit one of us — though we’d ALL love to meet anyone who visits our blog!

Question: What (other than hanging with the other Monkeys) are you most looking forward to at RWA National next week?

LK: Honestly, I’m most looking forward to being in the exciting, professional atmosphere the conference always provides. Having skipped last year, I’m really ready for an infusion of energy, and am excited about that rise of optimism and enthusiasm I always feel when I come home from Nationals.

JEL: Other than being with the Plotmonkeys? Hmmm…meeting with my new editor at Pocket. Seeing my Harlequin editor and my agent (seems like ages). Meeting with readers at the literacy signing. Wearing my new shoes. Seriously, the monkeys are why I’m going. I need the energy infusion.

CP: Being with the Plotmonkeys. Plotting. Seeing Atlanta. All the professional commitments I don’t get to do normally during the year. Meeting Readers at the Literacy signing, doing my two workshops (not ) and catching up with my Editor and others who I don’t see all year. I just love the energy, as Leslie said. I always enjoy National every year and look forward to it!

JD: Okay, Carly lies. Her version of “seeing” Atlanta is gazing out the car window while she’s being driven to the hotel. She doesn’t sight-see — unless, of course, shopping is involved!

(note from JEL: No one tell Carly about Phipps Plaza. Shhhhh. My budget for shopping has already been blown. Okay, back to Janelle…

Seriously, I am so looking forward to being with the Plotmonkeys. We talk via email daily, but it’s just not the same as hanging out in person. And yes, we do tend to “energize” each other! I always enjoy meeting readers at the literacy signing, as well as my editors. I don’t attend the workshops so much anymore, unless there is a really, really good topic — and I do think there are a few workshops I might go to!

WHY…Does the conference have to be in Atlanta?? I would just love to be there to see you plotmonkeys. I know that the 4 of you together act crazy! With all your hard work you deserve some WILD & CRAZY FUN!! Bring the conference to Philadelphia next year!!

I’m totally looking forward to it! I’ve never been, so I’m sure I’ll be completely unprepared, but I know I’ll have fun. Can’t wait to meet the Plotmonkeys!

Everyone have fun, I won’t be there either. How about you all travel to Boston for a “mini conference”??? Carly there are plenty of places to shop in Boston, and for the rest of you there is a great theatre district. :P

Since I live near Atlanta, I am coming to the signing sinc it is open to the public…I will try to stop by your tables! Be safe and have fun!!

I so wish I can go. Maybe next time. I would love to meet you all sounds like it’s going to be alot of fun

Katie, I think in 2008 RWA is in San Francisco–yea! I’m planning on going & am waiting, waiting! I wanted to go last year when it was it Reno but I wasn’t able to do that! Next year RWA is in Dallas.
To all 4 Plotmonkeys, have a great time, have a safe trip & just enjoy everything.:cocktail:

Hey all–

I’ve been out of town for a few days. Was in Chicago with my hubby celebrating our 20th anniversary. (Had a great time!)

Anyway, just wanted to second the “Please still visit next week” because though we’re going to be in Atlanta, we’re still going to have our special week of exclusive excerpts going on here at plotmonkeys.com. Looks like I have a winner for my “select the excerpt” poll from last Monday, so please check it out Monday.

Hey guys,
Have fun this week in Atlanta. You know if shopping is really on your list, just come visit me in Tampa. Great shoping and good food. We can have a mini conference here!

Julie - I received my copy of Domino effect Friday! yeah perfect timing. I’ll have something hot to read this weekend.

Leslie - I was on borders.com and noticed that “Here comes Trouble” is selling. not pre ordering. I was strong and didn’t order it. I didn’t want to mess up your release sales.

Well you guys have a great time have a couple of :cocktail:, enjoy some .
And tell us all about it when you guys come back..

Hope y’all enjoy ‘Hotlanta’. Believe you me it will be hot. I live on the other end on Georgia and the heat is awful.
